What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Worker position at Ragged Heart LLC?
Ragged Heart in Bloomington, IN is looking for a several Full Providers to join our team. We are conveniently located on the South-West side of Bloomington, near the bypass and Indiana University. Our Ragged Heart team is caring, fun, supportive, and serious about the quality of childcare we provide as well as maintaining a family like atmosphere. Ragged Heart is our Littles' "home away from home."
This positions are Monday - Friday one week, and Monday - Thursday the next. The hours for this position are 7am - 4pm or 8:30 - 5:30pm.
Our ideal candidates should have experience working with littles age 6 weeks - 4 years, are attentive, punctual, team players, hard-working, and whom takes the position of caring for others' littles as the most important job you can do for another family. Flexibility day-to-day is also a necessary skill as well as willingness to work in all roles needed. Candidates should be willing to work with any age group starting with infants to four-years-old.
Strong communication skills, ability to lift, bend, stretch and be on your feet for long periods, and a positive attitude is required. Ideal candidates understand we are in the business of lives, and families depend on us to be on time, and at work each day to provide care so they are able to get to work themselves.
Punctuality and solid attendance record is also required. Previous work experience in a childcare setting preferred. Must provide references to verify previous attendance, punctuality and skill records.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor little's activities
- Keep accurate and as on time records of children's progress, routines and interests and relaying needed information to parents through our childcare app, while also providing quality care first
- Assist in preparing food and serving meals
- Cleaning all childcare areas
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment
- Interest in child development
- Strong ability to communicate with families
- Ability to hold fellow providers accountable and work as a team
- Very high paced
- Must have strong time management, scheduling, and planning skills
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Child Development Associate or Certification (preferred)
- Previous experience working in Childcare (preferred)
- Must be available as a sub (if part-time)
- Must be willing to stay to provider care until ratios are at adequate level to leave at end of shift
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent grammar and experience with technology based communication platforms for family communication and charting
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, stretch, and stand on feet for long periods
- Ability to adapt and provide care to multiple littles in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to adapt to daily changes including work load, covering other areas, and individual care needs
- Must obtain First Aid/ CPR certification as well as other certifications in first thirty days, and pass background screening
