We are very pleased to announce that Ragle Inc. is seeking an Estimator who is interested in working for an established company with great advancement opportunities. Our Dallas/Fort Worth Team is seeking team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented individuals who are looking for new learning experiences and a desire to contribute to our clients’ success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the full estimating process for assigned bids and projects.
- Analyze proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to define the scope of work and estimate components.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates using historical data, production analysis, vendor quotes, and subcontractor pricing.
- Perform risk assessments and manage contract review as needed for assigned projects.
- Conduct accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing of construction components.
- Collaborate with clients, suppliers, engineers, and internal teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical and pricing issues.
- Recommend cost-saving alternatives based on constructability, materials availability, and engineering feasibility.
- Evaluate subcontractor participation to meet DBE and affirmative action requirements.
- Finalize and review all estimates, incorporating strategic cost factors when necessary.
- Support bid preparation and vendor/subcontractor selection in accordance with project goals and budget.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required.
- 2 years of relevant estimating experience in heavy civil construction preferred.
- In-depth understanding of construction methods, means, and terminology.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to interpret complex project drawings and documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Heavy Bid, Primavera, or MS Project is a strong advantage.
