Your Role at Raising Cane’s:
The Sensory Testing Specialist is responsible for designing, preparing, executing, and analyzing results for internal and external sensory tests. The role will collaborate with with and support cross functional teams throughout the stages of product development and validation, providing a comprehensive understanding of consumer feedback.
Your Impact and Responsibilities:
• Plans, prepares, and executes all sensory panels
• Collects sensory data and provides results using statistical tools and software
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams throughout the product development process to develop research recommendations to meet business needs
• Tracks, categorizes, analyzes, and reports consumer feedback throughout product validation
• Participates in cross-functional tastings and evaluations, providing sensory feedback on products
• Prepares results summaries as appropriate for cross-functional and leadership meetings
• Manages internal panel, including sign-ups, scheduling, and incentives
• Develops and delivers sensory training and education materials
• Maintains a master research timeline across all product research projects, including but not limited to sensory testing and consumer research
• Stays current on new methodology and industry trends to recommend new testing methods as applicable to business needs
Requirements for Success:
• 3 years’ experience in restaurant, food, or beverage industry as it relates to sensory science, food science, consumer research or related disciplines
• Strong fundamental knowledge of sensory principles, test design, execution, and analysis
• Proven experience in multiple sensory testing methods, including descriptive and discrimination testing
• Prior experience using sensory and statistical software to recruit participants, design tests, collect, and analyze data
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
• Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
• Able to travel up to 20% of time as needed for research projects
• Able to work at the Dallas Restaurant Support Office location in Plano, TX
• Microsoft Proficient: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
