We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with a strong background in accrual accounting and proficiency in Sage software to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting the company’s financial operations. This is a full-time, in-office role that requires a hands-on professional with excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with accrual accounting principles.
  • Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions, including invoicing and payments.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prepare financial documents for external audits and tax preparation as needed.
  • Manage payroll processing and related journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including sales tax reporting and remittance.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and processes.
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding financial performance and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with a focus on accrual accounting procedures.
  • Proficiency in Sage software (e.g., Sage 50, Sage Intacct).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Condominium Association Management or Portfolio Management.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and tax reporting requirements.
  • Certification in Sage software or bookkeeping (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, CPB).
