What are the responsibilities and job description for the In House Bookkeeper position at RAL Resort Property Management, Inc.?
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with a strong background in accrual accounting and proficiency in Sage software to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting the company’s financial operations. This is a full-time, in-office role that requires a hands-on professional with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with accrual accounting principles.
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions, including invoicing and payments.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Prepare financial documents for external audits and tax preparation as needed.
- Manage payroll processing and related journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including sales tax reporting and remittance.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and processes.
- Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding financial performance and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with a focus on accrual accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in Sage software (e.g., Sage 50, Sage Intacct).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Condominium Association Management or Portfolio Management.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and tax reporting requirements.
- Certification in Sage software or bookkeeping (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, CPB).
