Job Overview
Assists the Warehouse Supervisor by taking on the lead role to coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse crew. Typically, this position demonstrates good leadership abilities, communication skills and relies on knowledge and experience.
Pay Rate: $24.50 - $26.50
2nd Shift: Work Schedule: 2:30pm - 11:00pm OT (Monday - Friday Weekends)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborates with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
- Ensures that daily work assignments have been carried out and performed properly.
- Assigns daily task assignments to the warehouse crew to ensure all work for the day is completed according to the direction of the warehouse supervisor or manager.
- Refers personnel problems, complaints, and performance issues to higher-level supervisors for resolution.
- Informs designated employees or departments of work orders and loads and any problems encountered.
- Trains and monitors the warehouse crew in work-related activities.
- Observes crew to ensure proper safety and business procedures are being followed in the performance of daily assignments.
- Punctuality and regular attendance is mandatory.
- Must be able to read and understand scheduling and give directions to other forklift drivers.
- Safe and proficient operation of various forklifts and attachments. Must be alert and pay attention to surroundings at all times.
- Unload trailers, containers, and railcars following all safety procedures.
- Complete all receivers thoroughly and accurately and turn in with all appropriate paperwork and attachments (including pictures if required).
- Stage and stack all products square and straight according to the requirements provided by each specific account and by the company procedures.
- Accurately pull appropriate product from assigned locations.
- Verify all aspects of outbound orders prior to loading.
- Load all outbound orders following load diagrams that are specific to the product being shipped and the trailer limitations the product goes into.
- Refill propane tanks per established procedure.
- Must be able to change the forklift battery or propane tank as required.
ForkLift Operation:
- Must be able to read and understand scheduling and give directions to other forklift drivers.
- Safe and proficient operation of various forklifts and attachments. Must be alert and pay attention to surroundings at all times.
- Unload trailers, containers, and railcars following all safety procedures.
- Complete all receivers thoroughly and accurately and turn in with all appropriate paperwork and attachments (including pictures if required).

Safety and Security
- Attend all safety/staff meetings, sign in, and participate.
- Complete and turn in daily forklift safety check list.
- Cut and remove seals from trailers, and containers using appropriate tools and eye protection.
- All outside carrier drivers must be accompanied by a company employee. Stop/report any non-company personal wandering through the facility.
- Outside gate must be locked at the end of each shift
- Ensure all bay doors and pedestrian doors are closed at breaks and lunches and secure at the end of each shift.
Housekeepping:
- Perform all housekeeping duties to support food grade warehouse requirements including: sweeping and mopping if necessary, sweeping and picking up debris in trailers, containers, and warehouse floor. Plus, sweeping exterior docks and picking up broken glass, seals, and debris.
- Dispose of garbage using dock or self-dumping hoppers only.
- Recycle broken pallets, plastic, and cardboard per established guidelines.
Inventory:
- Perform bi-monthly, periodic, and/or annual inventories as directed by the accounts company service.
- Perform secondary and cycle counts as directed by management.
- Report any inventory anomalies to account managers or warehouse manager found during day-to-day operations.
- Report/document any damages found during unloading process or found later in location through use of designated forms.
Other Duties:
- Assist in all areas as needed.
- Support beer, glass, and wine repack projects.
- Perform maintenance functions including; topping equipment fluids.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
Communication/Professionalism:
- Represent company appropriately in relationship with owners, management, peers, employees, accounts, customers, carriers, and suppliers.
- Perform any other related duties assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typical fast-paced warehouse environment with exposure to moving equipment, noise, safety concerns, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Observing - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or anticipate any issues before they arise.
- Training – Trains new hires or less experienced team members in the proper business policies and work procedures to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs to the company and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
