What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tasting Room Associate position at Rancho Sisquoc Winery?
We are an established winery in the Santa Maria Valley located on the Foxen Wine Trail. We are seeking to hire an energetic, personable and responsible individual for the position of Tasting Room Associate. Looking for someone who has a passion for wine and working with the public.
This is a part-time position, anywhere from 8-20 hours per week; weekends and holidays are a must. Candidate must have exceptional hospitality and communication skills with the ability to your share wine knowledge with our guests. Encourage sales and wine club memberships, and also to create a memorable experience for our visitor’s. Must have the ability to thrive in a team environment and multi-task. Previous wine experience is preferred; but willing to train the right candidate. Retail and merchandising experience is desirable. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift 40lbs. Must be 21 yrs old or over.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Greet all visitors to the winery with a warm welcome
- Pours and describes the wines, winemaking techniques, and the history of Rancho Sisquoc.
- Sells wine to customers in the tasting room as well as through telephone sales and events
- Successfully signs up Wine Club Memberships.
- Accurately handles transactions which include operating cash register and accounting of daily sales processes
- Assists with special events
- Book Reservations over phone or in person
- Assists with receiving and restocking of wine and/or merchandise
- Accurately counting inventory
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- POS and cash handling experience is a must.
- Must have excellent hospitality and communication skills
- Great team player
- Must have a professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
