Quality Assurance Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of the company’s food safety and quality programs. This individual will oversee the QA department, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety, a deep understanding of quality management systems, and a proven ability to lead and mentor a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality System Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) that includes HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SQF (Safe Quality Food) or other GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) schemes.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the QA team, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Manage departmental staffing, scheduling, and performance reviews.

  • Compliance & Audits: Ensure the facility is always ready for and compliant with all regulatory and third-party audits (e.g., FDA, USDA, SQF). Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage all corrective actions.

  • Food Safety: Oversee and manage the company's food safety plan, including allergen control, sanitation, pest control, and environmental monitoring programs. Investigate and resolve any food safety-related incidents or customer complaints.

  • Product Quality: Establish and monitor quality control procedures and specifications for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Conduct root cause analysis for any quality deviations and implement preventative measures.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all quality control activities, test results, and audit findings. Generate and present regular reports on quality metrics to senior management.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure quality and safety are integrated into all company processes.
