Job Description Overview: The Adjunct Programmable Logic Controllers Advance Instructor will provide instruction over the fundamentals of programmable logic controller systems. The Instructor must report and maintain documentation of students progress, attendance, and performance. Perform other duties that are assigned. The Instructor may be required to work with industry to create a customized PLC Advance curriculum that fits their needs and schedule. They must have a strong passion for teaching, supporting, and preparing students to reach their educational goals.
Job Description Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of content.
- Provide a hands-on learning environment.
- Perform other duties that are assigned.
- Be sure to always supervise all hands-on activities.
- Educate students on the fundamentals and functions of programmable controller systems.
- Educate students on identifying hardware components of processors and 1/0 systems.
- Educated students on getting started with programming systems, changing the radix of a number, setting up communications between the programming system and processor.
- Educate students on being able to identify the PLC -5 and SLC 500 system addresses.
- Educate students on Interpretation of Ladder Logic, Timer On Delay (TON), and Count Up (CTU).
- Provides an engaging, supportive, and positive learning environment.
- Clearly establishes expectations for learning and achievement.
- Communicates well with students and staff.
- Make sure safety measures are always used and the learning environment is safe for all students and staff.
- Plan, develop, teach, and facilitate classes that involve theoretical and hands-on learning where students can gain the knowledge that is needed.
- Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, maintain student progress, performance and records.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support program goals and student success.
- Keep track of students attendance, participation, progress and grades.
- May be required to work with industry to create a customized curriculum that fits their needs and schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Mastery of skills in Programmable Logic Controllers Advance
- Great communication skills.
- Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, cooperative, and dependable.
- Must be able to work evenings if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous training or teaching experience.
Physical Requirements:
- To be able to stand for long periods of time.
- To be able to lift moderate weights of materials, equipment, and supplies.
