FLSA:EXEMPT

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. As set forth in Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel for Principal and Parish or City School Supervisor of Instruction (Bulletin 746)

2. Shall have a major and a minor in the core subjects: Math, English, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language
3. Shall have taught one core subject full-time for at least five years

 

REPORTS TO: School Principal

 

SUPERVISES: School Personnel as designated by the Principal

 

JOB GOAL: To assist the Principal in providing leadership in developing, achieving
and maintaining good educational programs and services in the assigned school

 

TERM: Ten Months

 

SALARY: Ten Month Principal-Assistant Salary Schedule

 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

PERFORMANCE

Domains and Components will be used for Principal evaluation in conjunction with measures of student growth. Measures of student growth will be aligned with the Louisiana Accountability System. Component A: Set ambitious, data-driven goals and a vision for achievement;
invests teachers, students, and other stakeholders in that vision

Component A: Facilitates collaboration between teams of teachers
Component B: Provides opportunities for professional growth and develops

a pipeline of teacher leaders

Component C: Creates and upholds systems that result in a safe and orderly

environment

 

Domain III: Instruction

Component A: Observes teachers and provides feedback on instruction

regularly

Component B: Ensures teachers set clear, measurable objectives aligned to

Common Core

Component C: Ensures teachers use assessments reflective of Common Core

rigor

 

I. To assist in the administration and/or supervision of the school
II. To serve as principal in his/her absence
III. To be responsible for the implementation of the program of studies
IV. Shall work in the classroom with teachers at least three hours each day
V. To serve as a resource person for the faculty
VI. To coordinate extracurricular and co-curricular academic activities
VII. To work with parents and students regarding academic problems
VIII. To be responsible for the grade reporting activities of the school
IX. To establish and execute a professional growth and self-evaluation plan
X. To work effectively with school personnel and staff
XI. To consistently demonstrate self-direction
XII. To submit accurate records and reports promptly
XIII. To exhibit professional ethics
XIV. To foster open communication and positive relationships with school personnel and staff
XV. To foster open communication and positive relationships with the community
XVI. To accept and perform other duties assigned by the Principal
XVII. To follow State, School Board and School policies
