POSITION TITLE: CNC Laser Operator

POSITION OVERVIEW

The CNC Laser Operator is responsible for performing a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the proper production and fulfillment of orders from manufacturing, packaging, and shipping of products. Laser Operators will work within a team environment to ensure a smooth and streamlined production process. Laser Operators may be required to work overtime based on customer demand.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform manufacturing operations on the production line and other various tasks including machine operations, shipping and fulfillment, material handling, following proper procedures and processes.
  • Operate equipment including, but not limited to CNC Tube Lasers and CNC Flat Lasers, forklifts, and power hand tools.
  • Ensure orders are filled and tagged accurately to the appropriate specifications and shipped without damage in a timely manner.
  • Work with team leaders and management to improve quality and process efficiency.
  • Visually inspect product, identify defects/rejects, and escalate issues as required
  • Participate in quality control inspections as needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, practices, and procedures, report any unsafe behavior or situation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in production/manufacturing industry preferred
  • Experience using CNC Lasers
  • High attention to detail with ability to actively problem solve and maintain a positive and sage work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members and leadership
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Role-Specific Knowledge – Experience in the manufacturing industry running CNC Lasers. Strong attention to detail and communication to produce high-end quality of products. High awareness of safety within the workplace.

Time Management – Ability to work independently within a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment with minimal supervision. Must be well organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy.

Technical Proficiency – Must have intermediate skills Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with shipping systems.

Reasoning/Analytical Ability – Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to make timely recommendations to effectively solve problems, using independent judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or law.

Communication – Must be able to communicate well in writing, verbally, and through presentations to deliver audience-appropriate messages consistent with organizational messaging. Requires the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. Must be able to collaborate and respectfully debate; transparency and grace in providing and receiving feedback required. Knowing the appropriate method of communication for a given topic (e.g., Slack, email, video conference, etc.) is necessary for success.

The physical demands described here are representative of those an individual must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Strong sensory skills, such as good eyesight, good hearing, and dexterity are required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to push and pull
  • Ability to walk, stand, and bend for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use your hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning, and pulling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
