This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of material handling equipment.

Essential Functions:
Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment -- Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily based on mechanical and electrical principles.
Using basic hand tools and electric measuring devices, the technician will troubleshoot and repair equipment back to manufacturers' recommendations/specifications.
Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts.
Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, via two-way radio, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (including computers and vehicles).
Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
Ability to conduct professional and informative face-to-face and phone/radio discussions with customers, vendors and team members as part of this job.
Ability to meet strict deadlines.
Ability to make decisions that affect other people, the financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the organization.
Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
This position requires some type of mechanical experience or training.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
