Position Description:
Our growing business is looking for an Account Manager to increase sales of sparkling wine in California and the wine regions across the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new Base to Bottle opportunities for wineries looking to add sparkling wine to their portfolio and following up on potential leads. The Account Manager will also monitor sparkling wine industry trends to identify emerging markets and develop plans to utilize those markets to expand revenue. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying, qualifying, and securing sparkling wine business opportunities at wineries in California and other states and wine regions.
- Building business relationships with potential and ongoing clients.
- Collaborating with the Business Development Team and leadership to secure, retain, and grow winery accounts.
- Developing customized targeted sales strategies i.e., by wine region.
- Creating informative presentations; Presenting and delivering information to potential sparking wine clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows, and conferences.
- Coordinating business generation activities.
- Responding to client requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Answering potential client questions and follow-up inquiries from existing clients.
- Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospective sparkling wine clients.
- Maintaining short and long-term business development plans.
- Cold calling; making multiple outbound calls to potential clients.
- Understanding the sparkling wine category and clients’ needs and offering solutions and support.
- Researching potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources.
- Qualifying leads from digital campaigns, conferences, references, trade shows.
- Closing sales and working with client through the contract process.
- Meeting or exceeding annual sales goals.
- Collaborating with management on sales goals, planning, and forecasting.
