RCN Capital, LLC is a national, direct private lender providing time-sensitive, bridge financing to real estate investors to fund the purchase of non-owner occupied residential and commercial properties, provide bridge loans, and provide real estate-backed lines of credit.
We are seeking a Paralegal to join our legal department with a focus on supporting our foreclosure caseload, overseeing the management of real estate owned properties (REO), interfacing with foreclosure counsel and investors, and handling releases. Leveraging excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and attention to detail, the Paralegal will ensure that documents related to foreclosures, including those related to loan servicing, legal processes, and department correspondence, are accurate and filed appropriately. Amongst other responsibilities, the Paralegal will be responsible for reviewing invoices, drafting and filing legal documents, managing and tracking efforts in default servicing, sending out and ensuring that all documents are filed where necessary, and following up on questions or missing documents via phone and email.
Ideal candidates will also possess ability to make effective decisions in the workplace with little supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage foreclosure caseload for the Legal team including interfacing with foreclosure counsel and investors
- Decide, and communicate, when it is appropriate to delay a foreclosure file referral when the borrower is close to payoff or reinstatement
- Oversee management of real estate owned properties (REO) including making informed decisions on contractor bid approvals
- Assist Legal Department in handling internal and external requests for legal-guidance
- Review invoices
- Filing and document management
- Drafting and sending written and electronic communication
- Fielding phone calls and handling telephone correspondence
- Manage and track collection efforts
- Organize Legal Department files and maintain database
- Additional tasks and projects as assigned
