About the Opportunity
We are an early-stage sports health technology start-up developing an innovative solution designed to help assess concussion status in athletes. Our technology is intended to support evidence-based decision-making in athletic environments and has applications across high school, collegiate, and broader sports settings.
We are seeking an experienced Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to collaborate with our team in evaluating, refining, and validating real-world use cases for this technology. This role is ideal for a trainer who enjoys working at the intersection of sports medicine, technology, and innovation.
Role Overview
As a subject-matter expert, you will help ensure our product aligns with real-world athletic training workflows and concussion assessment protocols. Initially structured as a part-time or contract role, this position may evolve into a longer-term opportunity supporting product adoption and a national rollout.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate and provide feedback on concussion assessment workflows using the technology in athletic settings
• Help develop and validate practical use cases for high school and collegiate sports programs
• Advise on best practices, compliance considerations, and integration into existing concussion management protocols
• Participate in pilot programs, user testing, and product refinement discussions
• Collaborate with product, clinical, and leadership teams to ensure clinical relevance and usability
• Assist, as needed, with training materials, demonstrations, and early adopter engagement during rollout
Qualifications
• Current Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential (BOC certified)
• Experience at the high school and/or collegiate level
• Strong working knowledge of concussion evaluation and return-to-play protocols
• Interest in sports technology, innovation, or start-up environments
• Ability to provide clear, practical feedback from a clinician’s perspective
• Comfortable working independently in a flexible, contract-based role
• Comfortable working with Technology, VR headsets a plus.
Preferred (but not required)
• Experience participating in pilot studies or product evaluations
• Familiarity with sideline concussion assessment tools and protocols
• Interest in contributing to broader adoption, training, or education efforts
