Job Description:**
Whistle Blowers Sports Officials is seeking dedicated and experienced Volleyball Referees to join our team for the upcoming volleyball season in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area. As a Volleyball Referee, you will play a crucial role in ensuring fair play, sportsmanship, and the safety of participants across various leagues and tournaments.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Officiate Volleyball Matches:** Ensure the rules of volleyball are adhered to during games, making accurate and fair calls.
- **Maintain Game Flow:** Manage the pace of the game by effectively controlling timeouts, substitutions, and other stoppages in play.
- **Enforce Rules:** Apply the official volleyball rules consistently and fairly, including issuing warnings and penalties when necessary.
- **Communicate Effectively:** Clearly communicate decisions to players, coaches, and scorekeepers. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- **Ensure Player Safety:** Prioritize the safety of players by monitoring and addressing any unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- **Work Collaboratively:** Collaborate with other referees, coaches, and event staff to ensure a smooth and efficient game environment.
- **Stay Updated:** Keep up with the latest rules and regulations in volleyball to ensure accurate officiating.
- **Report Incidents:** Document and report any incidents or rule violations that occur during games.
**Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** Previous experience as a volleyball referee is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
- **Knowledge:** Strong understanding of volleyball rules and regulations. Familiarity with high school and recreational league volleyball rules is a plus.
- **Certifications:** Referee certification from a recognized volleyball officiating body (e.g., USA Volleyball) is preferred but not mandatory.
- **Physical Fitness:** Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly across the court.
- **Communication Skills:** Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey decisions clearly and confidently.
- **Professionalism:** High level of integrity, fairness, and respect for all participants.
- **Availability:** Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the game schedule.
