THE JOB: The Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the electro-mechanical products delivered by Realityworks’ development team meet functional requirements as well as the company’s quality standards. This position defines the company’s testing strategy and applies it to the unique challenges posed by each new product. The Test Engineer collaborates with other functional teams, managers, and leadership to deliver the company’s growing product portfolio. This position is a part of the Electrical and Testing Team, helping to prioritize team activities, develop the team, and manage the workload.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Defines, implements, and maintains a coherent, progressive testing strategy for the company; develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for engineering and technical work performed
- Leads day-to-day testing activities on multiple projects and coordinates overall testing activities
- Ensures that all products tested by the team meet or exceed company standards
- Generates test status reports for projects
- Analyzes requirements, technology, and available resources to plan and assess feasibility of projects, including initial schedule and budget estimates
- Ensures products meet necessary regulatory requirements for domestic and key international markets
- Collaborates with engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders to convert marketing requirements into actionable product specifications for electronic designs
- Oversees and directs team responsible for delivering electronic designs and prototypes
- Administers and uses testing tools including defect tracking, test case management, and automation tools
- Collaborates with other project managers to coordinate work performed by Electrical and Testing development team on large, cross-functional projects
- Oversees electrical and testing work performed by third-party business partners, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and deliverables are completed to plan
- Leads, mentors, and motivates a highly technical team, including work assignments, professional development, and performance assessment
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and shifts in technology utilized by the company, to understand advantages and limitations of tools and technology available to the design team
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant technical field
- 5 years of relevant technical/development/integration experience
- Experience with electronics, mechanical, firmware and/or software testing and troubleshooting
