Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health and addiction counseling, with a focus on providing high-quality care to individuals and families. This role requires expertise in various therapeutic modalities and a commitment to supporting clients through their recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients with substance use disorders.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client, incorporating family dynamics and community resources.
- Engage in crisis intervention and management, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients during critical situations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including social workers, medical professionals, and community organizations.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on behavioral health topics, addiction recovery strategies, and coping mechanisms.
- Provide education on addiction medicine, PTSD care, and behavioral therapy techniques to clients and their families.
- Conduct data collection for research purposes related to treatment efficacy and client outcomes.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and case management within a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, CPT coding, and patient assessment protocols.
- Background in home & community care settings or hospital environments is preferred.
- Experience with child & family counseling as well as individual/group counseling is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of behavioral management techniques and applied behavior analysis is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of addiction counseling principles and practices within the context of mental health counseling.
