Position: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
Location: Serenity Spring – Wauseon, OH
Classification: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for monitoring Serenity Spring residents as well as safe transportation of residents. This duty includes knowing where the residents are, insuring they are acting safely and following rules/guidelines. BHT’s are also responsible for completion of documentation of the BHT Log, Service Activity Log, transportation/ vehicle log, Incident Reports, Urinalysis Drug Screens and other basic documentation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works to develop rapport and trusting relationships with residents served.
- Observes client behavior and events within the facility and documents information in the program log to communicate information to other team members.
- Assists the client with self-administration of medication.
- Transports and observes residents at self-help and community events.
- Facilitates the following of rules and guidelines established by the program to ensure structure and safety of residents.
- Follows agency policy and procedure and maintains compliance with accreditation bodies – CARF and OMHAS.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Training and experience in the mental health and addiction field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and ability to be insured by agency provider.
- Subject to BCI background check, pre-employment drug screen, TB screen, and reference checks.
- Must be 21 years of age.
