What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wound Care RN -Skilled Nursing Home position at Recruit Secure?
Recruit Secure is collaborating with a Skilled Nursing Home in the Brooklyn, NY area that is seeking an experienced and caring Wound Care RN for direct hire. The Wound Care Nurse will be responsible for evaluating, assessing, and documenting skin and wound conditions and having an in-depth knowledge of treatment protocols. The RN must be certified for Wound and Ostomy care. Additionally, be able to assist in the training of the nursing staff and monitor Infection Control. The successful candidate will have great communication skills to interact with physicians, families, and nursing staff. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Some Responsibilities
- Assessing skin and wound conditions
- Developing plans of care
- Implementing orders and treatments
- Evaluating the progress of specialized skin and wound conditions
- Evaluate new admissions
- Document status and care plans
- Notify physician and family of changes
- Provide Wound Care education to nursing staff
- Current NY State RN license
- 2 years’ experience in the care and treatment of wounds
- Must be certified for Wound and Ostomy care
- In-depth understanding of Wound Care protocols and treatments
- Ability to train Nursing teams on policies and protocols for the prevention and care of wounds
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Homes
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be self-directed on tasks and collaborative with Nursing teams
