Lighting Field Technician
Position Overview
A Lighting Field Technician is responsible for the hands-on installation, maintenance, and servicing of advanced low-voltage lighting control systems in residential environments. This role is ideal for someone technically inclined, reliable, and who thrives in a field-based, physical work environment rather than behind a desk.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage lighting control systems (e.g., Lutron, Crestron, Control4)
- Pull, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling for lighting systems
- Mount lighting components such as keypads, dimmers, sensors, and panels
- Interpret technical drawings and site layouts for accurate installations
- Provide basic system training to end users
- Maintain clear documentation of work performed
- Collaborate with field teams and maintain a high standard of workmanship and professionalism
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with panelized lighting systems (Lutron preferred; Crestron or Control4 acceptable)
- Background working on construction sites or in electrical/low-voltage trades
- Comfortable with ladders, cable pulling, hand tools, and power tools
- A steady employment history with a strong sense of responsibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bonus: Certifications in Lutron, Crestron, or Control4 systems
- Bonus: Experience in system-level programming or configuration
