What You Can Expect Working in the Drafting Intern Position

The Drafting team works diligently filling the requests for product drawings/blueprints based off of various sales team members’ sales funnel.

Through communication, organization, project management, and computer and software applications (i.e., Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc.), you will create drawings/blueprints for specific client needs to include Matador Metal Buildings and Survive-a-Storm Shelter’s Residential and Commercial product lines.

Responsibilities

• Create and produce shop drawings/blueprints for both Matador and Survive-a-Storm customer orders.
• Interprets project briefs and meetings with sales team to ensure all blueprints and technical drawings are completed to specifications.
• Understands written and verbal instructions, drafting technical drawings/blueprints, and successfully implements feedback and redlines from engineers and architects as needed.
• Ensures drawings/blueprints are compliant with building regulations and engineering principles.
• Organizes project folders per product family and client job to ensure accurate documentation.
• Conducts code research when required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Proficient with AutoCAD
• Ability to use or quickly learn CRM and other lead technologies.
• Strong verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to accept feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• AutoCAD training or experience
