About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on Cost Controller to provide timely, actionable financial and operational insights for our fast-growing Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing plant. Your primary focus will be cost control and job performance visibility, while supporting payroll, accounts payable, HR administration, and administrative processes. You will be a key partner to plant leadership, operations, engineering, and project management—ensuring data is accurate, current, and decision-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Control & Job Performance
- Maintain real-time visibility into project costs, WIP, and forecast-to-complete
- Maintain accurate job costing, labor tracking, and overhead reporting, highlighting variances and potential financial risks.
- Monitor project margins and flag financial risks or improvement opportunities
- Support pricing, cost modeling, and customer quoting
- Translate data into actionable insights for plant leadership
- Support daily/weekly production meetings with accurate metrics
Operational & Weekly Reporting
- Produce weekly operational and financial reports covering labor, materials, margins, backlog, and cash drivers
- Partner with operations, engineering, and project management to identify cost overruns and schedule risks early
Accounts Payable, Payroll & Cash Management
- Oversee accounts payable and payroll accuracy
- Track payables, labor, purchases, and billing to manage cash flow
- Maintain working capital visibility and cash forecasting
HR & Administrative Support
- Manage plant-level HR administration, onboarding, benefits, and labor compliance
- Lead administrative functions, office operations, and internal controls
- Develop efficient processes that support execution
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop administrative staff
- Act as a trusted business partner to plant and operations leadership
- Drive improvements in reporting cadence, accuracy, and usability
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- 7 years in manufacturing finance or plant accounting
- Strong ETO or project-based manufacturing experience
- Proven ability to deliver weekly operational and job-level reporting
- Experience supervising payroll, AP, and administrative functions
- Strong ERP experience
Preferred:
- CPA, CMA, or MBA
- Prior plant-level role with broad operational responsibility
- Experience supporting production, engineering, project management, and quoting decisions
- Experience supporting customer quoting and pricing decisions
