Key Responsibilities

• Claim review: Review WA L&I claims to ensure medical treatment, time loss compensation, vocational services, and PPD awards are appropriate and comply with industrial insurance law and the facts of the claim.

• Client guidance: Explain WA industrial insurance law and L&I requirements clearly to employers.

• Appeals support/representation: Prepare for and represent employer interests in appeals (including BIIA-related matters) consistent with applicable rules and internal protocols, up to and including mediation.

• Case Load Ownership: Keep your case load organized and moving forward through proactive planning, timely follow-up, and clear client updates and communication.

• Active claim management and coordination (medical, time loss, vocational services, PPD)

• Return-to-work and light-duty support (job analyses, offers, documentation)

• Provider and stakeholder communication (attending physicians, consulting doctors, vocational counselors, WA L&I staff, employers, workers)
