Position Summary:

This position test, services, and repairs fire systems for municipal, residential, and commercial customer accounts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair and install all systems based on customers orders.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Complete and submit all service call related documents.
  • Keep an orderly vehicle and accurate inventory stock levels.
  • Various projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Technical school training and/or certification is preferred.
  • One year of experience with the fire systems is preferred.
  • One year of experience in low voltage wiring is preferred.
  • Must have flexibility to travel and work overtime when needed.
  • Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Suite (intermediate Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • IT and networking experience is a plus.
  • Current BASA/FASA certification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Telecommunications - Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
  • Complex Problem Solving Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Problem Sensitivity The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem.
  • An acceptable driving and criminal history record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
