Summary
We have a current opportunity for a “Project Manager II” located at our facility in Longmont, CO. The selected candidate will be responsible for some of our most complex projects at Roccor/Deployable Solutions Longmont. The Project Manager has ultimate authority and responsibility for success of technical space programs to achieve technical, schedule and profitability results. They will lead medium, and large high-tech projects with high levels of risk and scope complexity. The person in this role is a key position to foster relationships and secure new business opportunities with customers, strategic technology development partners, consultants, and subcontractors.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for leadership of medium to large technically complex projects in accordance with contractual requirements, project scope and risk tolerance
- Develop project budgets, detailed schedules and associated spend plans.
- Provide regular reporting on cost status, ETC, and EAC.
- Provide revenue forecasts commensurate with project schedule, material receipts, build and test activity
- Analyze monthly costs and provide variance reports against project forecasts.
- Coordinate with cross functional project team to develop detailed work plans, identify staffing needs and develop schedules.
- Partner with cross functional leadership to assign resources and identify resource gaps to be resolved.
- Prepare monthly documentation to status project technical progress, technical and programmatic risks, and overall project performance status for Roccor and Redwire Management Team.
- Conducts project meetings and is responsible for action item tracking, analysis and closure.
- Execute projects in accordance with internal and external quality standards
- Identifies and addresses project technical and programmatic problems and collaborates with team to recommend resolution to ensure successful project completion.
- Facilitate project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
- Coordinate with lead and project engineers to assist in the technical leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary staff
- Assist Business Development with proposal cost, BOEs and schedule development.
- Manages risk identification and mitigation; prepares for potential project issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in an Engineering or Technical Management field
- Minimum of 5 years as technical project manager leading and delivering space flight projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and be able to lead engineering team through problem solving process through to resolution implementation.
- Extensive experience leading multi-functional engineering teams through project development phases from of technical requirement definition (SRR) through design, development, test and customer pre-shipment acceptance (PDR).
- Experience with various mechanical and electro-mechanical product design, prototyping, testing and manufacturing processes for space flight applications.
- Autonomously facilitates the decision-making process to progress actions and tasks towards meeting aggressive milestones, deliverables and cost targets.
- Ability to maintain focus on key project objectives with multiple demands from internal and external customers.
- Proficient using Microsoft Project, Excel and other company collaboration tools.
- Open to learning and bringing new tools to an organization to track and communicate project plans, status, and action item closure.

Desired Skills
- Achievement of Project Management Professional and/or Scrum Master certifications
- Flexible with exceptional organization skills and excels in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in RF or electrical engineering a plus
- Experienced at verbal and written communication internally throughout the leadership structure and externally with customer.

Travel
Any travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected in support of project execution.

Pay Range
$135,000 - $160,000

Redwire Space determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
