Redwood Materials is looking for an EHS Technician to join our growing EHS team! The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of tasks in industrial hygiene monitoring, safety audits, respiratory protection, spill mitigation, incident investigation, job hazard analysis (JHA), environmental inspections, and hazard recognition and mitigation. The EHS Technician supports day-to-day operations by handling plant EHS inspections, improving employee engagement, collecting, and recording EHS information, and driving continuous improvement of overall EHS processes and systems. Responsibilities include identifying and addressing environmental, health and safety risks and impacts, compliance requirements, escalating issues where necessary, ensuring proper labeling and storage of waste streams, providing emergency spill response and cleanup, identifying opportunities for waste minimization and cost savings, conducting EHS inspections and inputting data, supporting incident investigations, performing task safety assessments, IH sampling, respirator fit testing, PAPR hygiene program, confined space rescue/attendant duties, ergonomic assessments, supporting environmental compliance and emergency response, collaborating with various organizational levels, and representing EHS in battery processing and manufacturing facilities. Desired qualifications include 3 years experience in manufacturing, mining, or chemical processing environments, ability to work 6:00 pm to 6:00 am shift independently, strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, physical ability to perform job tasks, and preferred certifications such as RCRA, OSHA 10/30, Hazard Communication, HAZWOPER 40, and forklift operation. Physical requirements include passing respiratory fit test and medical evaluation, ability to wear PPE, and ability to work extended shifts. Working conditions include diverse indoor/outdoor environments with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes. The position is full-time with compensation commensurate with experience.
