What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investor Relations Analyst position at Redwood Trust Inc?

We are seeking an Investor Relations analyst to support and contribute to Redwood’s investor, analyst and external stakeholder engagement efforts and strategy. The successful candidate will be a team player that is comfortable wearing multiple hats and would thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. The role is based in our New York City, New York midtown office. Our office-based employees follow a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office, and 2 days remote. The role will report to the Head of Investor Relations. 

Responsibilities

    Contributing to the design and implementation of an IR program that is aligned with Redwood’s strategy and goals

    Expanding and enhancing the company’s relationship with prospective institutional investors

    Managing outreach, logistics and follow-up for investor and research analyst engagement as well as for industry conference and like events

    Assisting in the drafting and preparation of investor communication materials, including all quarterly and annual related materials, press releases, conference call scripts and Q&A documents

    Formulating messages to educate the investment community on Redwood’s corporate strategy, opportunity set and mission

    Preparing presentation and support materials for both internal (including Board of Directors and senior management) and external audiences (including investors, research analysts and media)

    Working with Investor Relations team as well as existing and prospective investors to facilitate responses to inquires and ad hoc requests

    Collaborating with internal teams to gather information and craft responses that accurately convey Redwood’s strategy, brand and message

    Developing and maintaining deep cross-functional relationships with Finance, Accounting, Legal as well as with all various business verticals 

    Supporting Redwood’s growing Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) disclosure efforts

    Monitoring and analyze sell-side financial models, research and valuation frameworks

    Tracking and providing feedback on changes to the shareholder base, investor sentiment, peer performance and capital markets trends

    Manage relationships with third-party service providers

    Responsibilities will at times extend beyond Investor Relations into Corporate Communications, Capital Markets, Public Relations and ESG

Desired Experience

    The successful candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in sales, capital, markets, marketing, investor relations or similar roles

    Proficiency in presentation creation and data analysis utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel

    Strong communication and presentation skills, including writing and editing

    Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis as well as interpret information and financial concepts

    Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; able to build relationships with Redwood’s investor and research analyst base

    Highly organized with keen eye for attention to detail

    Ability to work autonomously, be proactive, prioritize and function in a fast-paced team environment

    The highest standard of personal and professional integrity and ethics

    BA/BS degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related field

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is 95k - 140k. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
