QUALIFICATIONS:
  • RN or LPN with current unrestricted license in the state of TN.
  • Minimum of three years experience in assisted living, specialty care assisted living, long-term care, or other human services field.
  • Ability and desire to work with the senior population with cognitive, physical, and memory impairments.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall care and safety of the residents at Regency Retirement Village. Will perform or oversee the pre-admission assessments on residents, monitor health issues for all residents, and perform re-admission assessments on those who are out of the facility for medical reasons. Maintain current and accurate medical records and individualized care plans for each resident. Establish and maintain good rapport with residents, families, and physicians. Ensure the provision of quality care for all residents. Will be active in recruiting, hiring, supervising, and terminating staff for assisted living and specialty care assisted living. Assist with marketing, education of staff, and other duties as assigned. Establish rapport with other agencies and facilities including hospitals, home health agencies, and outside labs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize all records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor the health of residents and document any significant changes accordingly.
  • Oversee training of staff members on proper documentation, terminology, and basic care in order to meet the needs of each resident.
  • Education of all residents and staff on universal precautions.
  • Educate or schedule outside agencies to assist with education for staff on medical conditions including but not limited to dementia, Alzheimer’s, the disease process, pain management, and end-of-life care.
  • Supervise staff in the provision of quality care and meeting the needs of each resident per the individualized care plan.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with family members, physicians, and other agencies who may be involved in the care of each resident.
  • Work with other LPNs or staff with scheduling in order to be in compliance with state regulations.
  • Maintain current chart records to reflect proper documentation, lab results, testing, DNR status, and other various records on each resident.
  • Attend in-services, and conferences as needed.
  • Maintain current required nursing licenses and continuing education requirements. Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Assist with marketing to outside entities/referral sources.
  • Perform assessments on resident(s) prior to admission, or re-admission after a hospital or rehabilitation stay. Update care plans as needed.
  • Monitor and Update Care plans and Medical Exam Forms annually-ALF
  • Monitor and Update Care Plans/monthly assessments for MC residents
  • Respond to emergencies within the building as needed.
  • Address significant changes in care plans for residents as needed.
  • Assist with the coordination of transport of residents to other entities such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, etc.
  • Monitor the physician orders for signature and proper transcription of orders.
  • Provides an “open door” policy to employees, residents, and families to address any concerns or grievances.
  • Work with county, state, and federal agencies to promote quality care for all residents.

  • Sit up to four hours a day
  • Frequently support up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 15 pounds
  • Frequently kneel, bend, and reach
