Route Planner
Regency Transportation is a family owned, mid-sized truckload carrier, serving the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. We are currently hiring experienced route planners/logistic coordinators to join our operations team.
Job Description
The route planner is responsible for identifying the most cost-efficient means of moving customer freight. Maintain high customer satisfaction and service level, with a focus on equipment utilization, productivity, and efficiency – while complying with DOT hours of service rules. Uses appropriate and available technology (TMW Suite, PC Miler) to minimize unproductive miles and produce an executable and effective plan. Accepts or declines all committed and non-committed freight including expedited or short lead orders.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Build and nurture partner relationships with customers, drivers and operations team
Ability to communicate frequently and professionally by phone, email and in person
Update and maintain Transportation Management System – both internal and external
Able to work both independently and within a team
Proactively identify problems and implement effective solutions
Achieve individual, team, and company goals and objectives
Skills/Requirements
Must have relevant experience in planning – Truckload or LTL freight
Must have strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
Must have experience with transportation management systems – TMW experience a plus
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment
Extremely organized and detail oriented
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build professional relationships
Strong communication (both verbal and written), problem solving, & decision-making skills
Must have strong computer skills. Outlook, word, excel etc....
