Daytime/Afternoon Dispatcher

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of freight. This position requires strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and proficiency in various transportation management systems. The Dispatcher will be responsible for managing logistics and supply chain processes while maintaining a high level of customer service. The dispatcher will be required to work 8am-5pm and some weekends.

Duties

• Coordinate and schedule transportation activities
• Analyze data related to shipping and receiving to enhance operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatching activities, including data entry for freight movements.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and vendors via multi-line phone systems to ensure seamless operations.
• Monitor the status of shipments and provide updates as necessary.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to improve transportation planning and logistics strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in fleet management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching or a related field within logistics or transportation management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations quickly.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
• Ability to type efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes is advantageous.
