District Technology Services Technician
About: Regional School District 8 is accepting applications for a District Technology Services Technician who will work under the supervision of the Director of Technology/Communication. The District
Technology Services Technician will 1) be the primary point of contact for district faculty and staff seeking technical support and 2) be responsible for answering requests directed to the Information Technology
Services Support Center and providing in-person support, training, and assistance.

Job Goal: Work collaboratively with various point personnel to repair, problem solve, and assist with staff and student technology needs such as laptops, Chromebooks, interactive boards, projectors, VoIP phones, printers, and other district technology. Help ensure that tasks are completed in a timely, efficient, and reliable manner.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication, problem solving, and technical skills
- Basic understanding of computers, printers, projectors, smart boards, scanners,
Interactive displays, copiers, and other miscellaneous devices
- Strong knowledge of platforms such as GSuite for Education and Chrome operating systems
- Proficiency in the setup and installation of Windows Operating system
- Familiarity with LAN concepts such as, IP networking, including DNS/DHCP services, VLANs, switches, and wireless access points
- Ability to make contacts and develop effective working relationships within and outside the department, maintaining a high degree of professionalism
- Well-developed sense of strategy and timing and the ability to prioritize duties independently
- Ability to interface with technical personnel in order to discuss user related problems
- Ability to maintain discretion on confidential matters
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certifications in A , Network , or MCP are desired, but not required
- Five years experience in technology related services
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend various events such as meetings, conferences, training sessions, and Board of Education meetings
- Manage Active Directory environment including users, printing, imaging, and group policies
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain district computers, printers, projectors, and interactive displays
- Maintain a district database of hardware
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Oversee the creation, testing, and deployment of imaging solutions
- Transport equipment between schools on the campus
- Provide input as needed for technology planning and department initiatives
- Effectively communicate and document routine tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned

The position is a twelve month position, 5 days a week, with a 40 hour work week. Travel between buildings is not necessary because Regional School District 8 is located on a single campus.
