Job Description:
At Regions, the Mainframe Operator acts as the first responder to alerts/alarms for issues with the Bank's critical technology infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities
Monitors Alert Viewer Dashboard and takes action as necessary on alerts for the following: Regions.com, online account opening, iTreasury, mobile banking, windows servers, UNIX servers, and firewalls
Monitors Middleware MQ Dashboard and takes action as necessary on alerts
Monitors Voyager TP Servers specific to iBank and takes action as necessary on alerts
Monitors the following: Help Desk automated call distributor (ACD), server patching updates, weather channel for events that could impact branches/automated teller machines (ATMs)
Performs remote reboots of downed branch servers (nights/weekends)
Maintains Mission Critical Monitoring Knowledge database
Monitors branches, ATMs, and network at night and on weekends; takes action on alerts as necessary
Reports circuit issues to carriers and creates tickets on behalf of network
Escalates per process to upper management when issue resolution is delayed
Opens an outage bridge as issues are escalated
Creates outage timeline for severity one outages
Works with a moderate degree of supervision
This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Five (5) years of related experience
Preferences
Technical degree
Skills and Competencies
Ability to work in a team environment when applicable
Ability to work under limited guidance
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Demonstrated analytical/problem solving capabilities
5 years experience
IWS (IBM) automated job scheduler
