Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment and working in collaboration with Graduate Admission and the Center for Global Connections, the Assistant Director manages strategic recruitment initiatives to attract qualified international students to Regis College. The incumbent will establish international recruitment goals by leveraging data to develop and implement recruitment initiatives. This position directly contributes to attaining international student recruitment goals by effectively informing, assisting, and advising prospective international students and parents from around the world. The Assistant Director will represent Regis College virtually and in-person at recruitment events within the United States and abroad. The individual in this role will maintain, develop, and nurture relationships within the institution and with external recruitment constituents, to include exploring and vetting new recruitment partners. In addition to operational management duties, the Assistant Director will be expected to travel abroad and within the U.S. and, as such, will coordinate and manage a travel budget and be responsible for all recruitment and conference travel logistics. The incumbent will also participate in the holistic review of prospective international student applications for admission decisions. The role of Assistant Director of International Admission will provide excellent opportunities to connect professionally and strategically with our faculty and staff community, as well as with our partners around the globe.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as primary point of contact and collaborator with all contracted agents and in-country partners to include monthly virtual check-ins
  • Implement strategies that drive engagement and deepen the relationship with prospective students throughout each phase of the enrollment cycle
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology, in concert with other relevant data, for enrollment analysis and reporting, and to maximize lead generation, manage prospects and track ROI
  • Use market insight and intelligence to analyze student demographic information and behavioral data as it relates to the enrollment cycle and outreach efforts to maximize impact
  • Apply deep understanding of needs and motivations of target populations to drive outreach efforts that grow our international student population and help us meet strategic objectives
  • Coordinate enrollment initiatives for undergraduate and graduate students to include monthly virtual information sessions for students
  • Manage the application and selection process of the Fung Scholars/Fellows program
  • Represent the university at multiple functions, which will include on-campus events, virtual and in-person fairs, and relevant international conferences such as NAFSA, IACAC, CIS, AIRC, or EducationUSA
  • Serve as the institutional representative for the StudyMASS consortium, attending scheduled meetings and collaborating on statewide recruitment initiatives
  • Develop and manage recruitment and conference travel budgets
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Required Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree and three years of professional experience in international recruitment and/or university admission.

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • A master’s degree and 5 years of admission or recruitment experience (or a combination of the two)
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage and to execute multiple objectives concurrently
  • Ability to conduct interviews of prospective students and their families, educational agents, and others in the recruitment network
  • Superior interpersonal, listening and oral/written communications skills, including excellent presentation development and delivery skills
  • Proficiency in a language other than English
  • Ability to engage with a variety of constituents (prospective and current students, alumni, faculty, agents, institutional partners, etc.) from many different cultural backgrounds
  • Experience with and proficiency using MS Office and CRM tools, such as TargetX, Salesforce, Colleague, HubSpot (and/or other institutional systems)
  • Knowledge of international student markets, especially for the geographic regions of South Asia, China, and Latin America
  • Ability to serve as Designated School Official (DSO)
  • Creativity and resourcefulness
  • A positive attitude, can-do mentality, and high service standards
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to interact confidently and positively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face-to-face and online.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Normal office environment, not subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc.
  • Position requires travel in automobile and some work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Use of computer keyboards requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
