Cyber Security Intern

The Cybersecurity internship is designed to give students an opportunity to apply concepts, techniques and knowledge acquired through coursework in the real world by working side-by-side with our cybersecurity professionals. The internship will focus on areas such as identification and analysis of malicious code, forensics analysis, incident handling, and intrusion detection and prevention. This position may be eligible for scholarship funding at the completion of the internship. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.

The internship is located onsite at our corporate campus in Bismarck, ND. Hours may vary from 20-25 hours per week dependent on business need and college schedule.  The opportunity to work up to 40 hours may be available during school breaks.  This opportunity is available now.  The exact beginning and ending dates are negotiable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year undergraduate Cybersecurity or IT program.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Location will be on site at the MDU Resources Group offices in Bismarck, ND.--This is not a remote work assignment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
• Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled sophomore or junior in undergraduate study program.
• Strong interest and course work in Cybersecurity is preferred 

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Interns will be involved in providing day-to-day support as needed, including:

• Security monitoring & incident response; vulnerability management; security administration
• Gathering, reporting and delivery of security metrics
• Research and documentation development
• Various small projects and process assistance as needed
• Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.

 Hourly Wage: $17.50
