Preschool Assistant Teacher

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support classroom activities, foster a nurturing environment, and assist lead teachers in delivering engaging educational experiences for young children. This role is essential in promoting early childhood development and ensuring a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment for preschoolers. Prior experience with children, classroom management, and knowledge of early childhood education principles are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and behavior management strategies
• Support classroom management to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children
• Provide individualized attention to children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities
• Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote social-emotional development, literacy skills, and early numeracy
• Help with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining cleanliness
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times
• Support children’s behavioral development through positive reinforcement and consistent routines
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements and adapt lesson plans for different learning styles
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and classroom activities

Skills

• Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings
• Knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education practices such as Montessori or toddler care approaches
• Strong classroom management skills to handle behavior issues constructively
• Ability to develop and implement lesson plans focused on literacy education, math fundamentals, and curriculum development
• Experience working with children with special needs, including those with autism or disabilities
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff and engage with parents effectively
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques and working with children who have diverse learning needs
• Ability to work well within a team environment and adapt to changing classroom dynamics
