Summary:
As a Foreman you will be responsible for leading a team on a wide range of project types and locations. These projects may include but are not limited to new construction, remodels, additions, conduit, MC cable, and Romex depending on how the jobs are quoted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the project status at any given juncture as it relates to labor and materials.
- Daily morning huddles prior to job commencing to ensure entire team understands objectives and priorities for the day.
- Provide long term material projections so that the purchases orders are minimal, and materials are available days before needed.
- Ensure proper tools and resources are on-site within appropriate timeline. Ensure resources (bobcats, trenchers, benders, etc.) do not linger on-site and are returned in timely manner.
- Ensure employees are appropriately handling and caring for resources and has an effective system for coordinating and monitoring the same.
- Timely follow up on conversations you’ve had with GCs with your PM as applicable.
- Timely communication of change orders to your PM for processing.
- Ensure accurate use of BusyBusy for clocking in and out, with an eye to appropriate reflection of time actually worked.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, solve problems in the face of frustration or confusion and empower others to do the same.
- Ensure team is equipped to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Carefully review project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Ensure that Daily Log Forms, weekly toolbox talks, as well as daily site safety check lists are completed.
- Provide servant leadership and coaching to all field staff and teammates
- Develop skills and capabilities of team, with a particular focus on lead journeyman and top talent apprentices.
- Consistently demonstrate and drive behavior fully in line with Reliable Core Values (Integrity, Servant Leadership, Trust, Passion for Winning, Balance)
- Develop and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with GCs and their management team as well as other subcontractors. Move to a “we” versus an “us/them” mindset.
- Be proactive in “delighting” our partners so they want to continue to do work with Reliable and with that FM specifically.
- Demonstrate the ability to work through complex manpower needs, and work with PM on needs/concerns.
- Effectively devise strategies for material storage and dispersion on job sites. This includes a high level of organization so that team knows where to go for material, enabling productivity.
- Maintain a strong partnership with purchasing and warehouse that enables smooth material handling.
- Lead safety efforts for the job site/hold team accountable.
- Other duties as assigned by management
Education Level:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Electrical schooling preferred
Experience Desired:
- 5 years of being an electrical foreman preferably in a commercial setting
- 10 years being in the electrical trade with a focus in commercial
Skills Required:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other O365 Suite applications.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills to work efficiently with contractors, and other professionals that are involved in construction projects.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong sense of Servant Leadership.
- Valid drivers license with clean record.
- Complex understanding of electrical industry parts and materials.
- Ability to act in safe matter and follow safety guidelines including documenting when unsafe conditions exist.
