The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the quality of the hotel linen supply by ensuring cleanliness according to company procedures and at a level that meets or exceeds company standards. Core Responsibilities: Sort, weigh, wash, dry, iron, fold and stock guest room and Food & Beverage linen Know and follow the operating functions of all equipment, reporting any damage, hazards or defective equipment to a supervisor Utilize chemicals used in washing, controlling quantities of supplies as recommended by chemical supplier with approval of Executive Housekeeper Perform other duties as assigned Follow all Material Safety Data Sheet documents and management company Safety Standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies: • High work ethic and self-initiative • Regular attendance according to established guidelines • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property • Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
Physical Requirements: • Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time, as work flow is continuous throughout the shift • Bend, pull, stoop, squat and stretch to shake, sort, wash, dry, fold, and stack linen • Operate commercial laundry equipment in a safe manner • Work conditions could include hot and humid environments • Lift approximately thirty (30) pounds of equipment or supplies, using safe lifting techniques • Push heavy carts, approximately one hundred (100) pounds • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
