Join Our Team as an Apartment Maintenance Technician!
Duties Include:
- Performing intermediate semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of apartments.
- Handling tasks such as moving or carrying sinks, counter tops, doors, debris, floor tiles, fan motors, refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, and other materials.
- Lifting requirements: Exceeding 75 lbs infrequently.
- Working in tight, cramped spaces and abiding by Fair Housing laws.
Examples of Work:
- Conducting a variety of small repairs and general maintenance of apartments.
- Repairing small patches for painting preparation.
- Assisting with the repair of doors, windows, hinges, locks, downspouts, roofs, sub-floors, and floor coverings.
- Performing rough carpentry, laying concrete, and assisting with plumbing repairs.
- Assisting with electrical, heating, and ventilating work, as well as carpentry and mechanical repairs.
- Removing and installing appliances.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of common methods, materials, and tools used in carpentry, painting, electrical, and mechanical trades.
- Ability to operate and care for hand and powered tools used in building trades.
- Capability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
Education and Experience:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in general maintenance work.
