What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Repower South Berkeley?
Daily Job Duties:
- Load, unload, and move material with heavy equipment.
- Documents daily logs.
- Maintain vehicle by checking fluids at beginning and end of shift.
- Communicates with the Tip Floor Agent to maintain a safe, efficient flow of trucks through the building.
- Is able to pull large non-recyclables out of a pile.
- Work safely between outside vendor tractor trailers, recycle trucks, and foot traffic to ensure driver safety.
- Keep the equipment clear of debris.
- Assists team members in cross training to ensure coverage within assigned shift.
- Assists during breaks or shortages in personnel.
- Notify management in the event of any condition that may pose a risk to safety including physical, biological, or chemical hazards.
- Knowledge in hydraulic fluids, machine parts, & operation of material handler a plus
- Previous experience required for this opportunity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
