Job Function:
Under direction of the Production Supervisor, the Technical Machine Specialist will follow all established procedures and policies while providing technical operations support to the machine operators responsible for Thermal Foil Line.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with Team members, including maintenance personnel regarding recurring problems and needs for repair.
- Responsible for performing job functions in a manner that promotes a safe work environment, including compliance with proper PPE and all other Plant safety policies and practices.
- Monitor equipment for abnormalities, solving minor problems without assistance and eliminating potential threats to production.
- Ability to accurately troubleshoot and address root cause of quality defects and machine downtime.
- Process all necessary repairs and upkeep of all machinery and mechanical systems.
- Provide appropriate feedback to Operators, Team Leads, Maintenance, Supervisors and Managers
- Attend vendor training and working with outside technicians to learn proper methods and techniques.
- Train and mentor Machine Operators on proper setup and operational process.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Production personnel in projects and/or rebuilds.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.
- Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.
- Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Test fluids to identify contamination or other problems.
- Leads 5S and continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor and ensure improvements are being sustained.
- Participate in the 5S audits, provide training and mentoring to machine operators about Standard Work, Visual Management, 5S, etc.
- TEAMWORK: Support efforts by all team members to continuously improve equipment performance

Job Qualifications:
- Able to demonstrate a clean & organized work environment.
- Strong Electrical & Mechanical aptitude
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-direction and initiative
- Ability to read and understand line diagrams and schematics.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
- Strong leadership skills
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Proficient in PLC's & HMI's
Education/Experience:
- Vocational School or Technical College Training (Technical/Manufacturing)
- Basic Electrician Skills
- Compressor, Pump, HVAC, and repairs
- Ability to take a long-term assignment and see it to completion.
- Experience working around and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
- Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Stand, kneel, bend, twist, and walk 8-12 hours per day.
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose equipment issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Must be physically able to perform repairs.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
