What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Connector position at Residential Services, Inc.?
Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a part-time Community Connector Coordinator. This position will start with 15-20 hours of training per week and then build up to working 20-25 hours per week. There is potential for this position to develop into a full-time opportunity as referrals/admissions grow.
Salary: $20.50-$21.50 per hour:
In this position, you will:
- Implement a three-step process of discovery, connection, and sustainability with people with disabilities for the purpose of building meaningful relationships and connections within their community.
- Identify a person’s interests, assess and teach skills, and develop a network of opportunities for connections within their identified community.
- Develop Individualized Support Plans based on assessment.
- Evaluate and assess progress of community connection goals, identify barriers, and find solutions to problems.
Location and Schedule: :This position will provide support to people with disabilities in the Northern St Louis County area. Job duties will be performed within the person's home, their community, and in an office environment. Hours are scheduled based on the needs of service recipients, but will typically include Monday-Friday day and evening hours with occasional weekends required. Access to a vehicle is required for travel with mileage reimbursement provided.
For this position you will need: :
- An Associates degree in a human services, communication, or related field or: one year of equivalent experience.
- Two years of work experience supporting individuals with disabilities with responsibilities that included planning program activities, coordinating projects, and connecting with community resources.
- To pass a post-offer background check.
- A valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle for travel, and be able to pass an MVR check.
- To be able to genuinely connect well with people with disabilities and community members.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
