What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Lending Processor position at Resource One Credit Union?
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for providing clerical support for all mortgage loan processing activities. Receives, evaluates, and reviews loan applications. Obtains and verifies necessary information and prepares documents for underwriting and closing review. Communicates loan status to all involved parties including buyer, seller, realtor, and title company representatives. Assists or refers members as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Thoroughly reviews of all new loan applications. Ensures that all information is complete and accurate.
Collects all necessary documentation in order to obtain loan approval.
Analysis of but not limited to, all credit, income, rental, asset and collateral package.
Keeps mortgage loan officers and underwriters informed regarding any issues during the process.
Adheres to productivity standards and all credit union policies and procedures.
Assists and supports mortgage lending personnel as needed.
Provides training as needed to mortgage lending department new hires.
Completes reports promptly and accurately.
Attends and participates in meetings as required..
Keeps management informed of any significant problems as they arise.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
Professionally cross-sells Credit Union services.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High school diploma or equivalent.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions, including FHA/VA, USDA, construction, conventional and both conforming and portfolio products.
Knowledge of mortgage related requirements, compliance regulations, and underwriting criteria.
Knowledge of all local, state and federal agency regulations as well as TRID.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two to five years of similar or related experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Good verbal and public relations skills.
Strong typing abilities.
Good basic math skills.
Able to use related computer applications.
Well organized.
