Job Description: Progressive Water Resources (PWR), a Division of RESPEC Company, LLC, a nationally recognized engineering consulting company, has an immediate employment opportunity for a part-time administrative assistant. The position is located within our Water & Natural Resources business unit in Sarasota Florida.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will assist the senior administrator with general office tasks and duties such as the following:
- Create a new filing system, keep abreast of document filing, and maintain files and archives in a storage unit
- Order and/or purchase office and kitchen supplies
- Contact vendors (e.g., heating, ventilation and air-conditioning service, internet service, and fire extinguisher inspections for building/office maintenance)
- Print and assemble materials and prepare packages for mailing or shipping
- Assist with fleet maintenance (if needed by fleet manager)
- Maintain the telephone system and outgoing messages
- Assist with coordinating oversized print jobs and picking up those jobs from a printer
- Set up and maintain print codes as needed for projects
- Provide data entry and/or proofreading/editing services as needed by principal managers
- Greet visitors and accept deliveries
- Research various overhead expenses for cost-savings possibilities (e.g., a water cooler versus bottled water delivery and paper item costs).
Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher)
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Self-motivated with an ability to take direction and work independently with minimal guidance and supervision
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly and professionally
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
Work Schedule: Temporary part-time position, 1 day per week, for a maximum of 8 hours (whatever day of the week the candidate chooses upon hiring will be the same workday for all future weeks).
Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience, plus statutory insurance requirements.
