Responsibilities
- Setup and operate a Gilbert Planer and Weinig Moulder to produce wood products according to specifications. Ensure machines are running efficiently and producing high-quality output.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to machines to correct defects and ensure product consistency.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on planer machines. Report major issues to maintenance team and assist with troubleshooting.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production output, and any maintenance performed. Document any issues and solutions.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth production flow. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating and maintaining planer machines in a manufacturing or wood products environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on machinery.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in machine setup and quality control.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
