Janitor

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, a Janitor’s duties and responsibilities can include general cleaning of a building and grounds, and keeping it maintained and in good condition.

The schedule for this position is flexible but may include Saturday and Sunday. The other three shifts worked are flexible during the week.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure a clean working environment

· Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors as necessary.

· Dust and clean cob webs as necessary.

· Clean outside areas to ensure no debris, cobwebs, etc. is present. Occasional window cleaning.

· Clean windows, empty trash, dust, sweep/mop/vacuum offices

· Clean sinks, bowls, fountains, mirrors, and other surfaces in rest areas/sanitary stations/drinking fountains

· Collect and dispose of all trash within the facility

· Replenish tissue, towels, soap, etc. at appropriate stations

· Clean break room floors, counters and surfaces, microwave, etc.

· Clean patient kitchen floors, counters, surfaces

· Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities

· Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects

· Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs

· Make adjustments and minor repairs

· Stock and maintain supply rooms

· Notify management when cleaning supplies need to be restocked

· Cooperate with the rest of the staff/patient schedules

· Follow all health and safety regulations

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· A valid driver’s license

· CPR/First Aid Certification

· CPI Certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

· Ability to be highly efficient, organized and accurate in work

· Ability to exercise initiative, judgement and decision-making skills

· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Maintenance or Janitorial experience (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
