Position Summary
ReUse Computers is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computer Technician to join our team. This role focuses on building, upgrading, testing, and repairing desktop computers for resale and customer use. The ideal candidate has hands-on technical skills, enjoys troubleshooting hardware issues, and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, configure, and test desktop computers from new and refurbished components
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues (motherboards, RAM, power supplies, hard drives, etc.)
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems and software
- Perform quality assurance testing to ensure systems are stable and customer-ready
- Maintain organized inventory of parts, tools, and completed builds
- Document repairs, system builds, and component usage accurately
- Provide basic customer support for computer-related issues when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred: CompTIA A , etc.)
- 1 years of hands-on computer repair or assembly experience (professional or hobbyist)
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware components and troubleshooting techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Good organizational and time management skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (cases, monitors, bulk parts)
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, or working with hand tools
- Manual dexterity to handle small components and cables
