What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Processor II position at REV Federal Credit Union?
Position Overview:
Responsible for processing of long-term mortgage loans as well as lot, 2nd mortgages and HE loans. Conveys policies for extension of credit in accordance with Credit Union and secondary investor guidelines. Serves members and prospective members, developers, and realtors promptly and professionally. Provides general Credit Union information and cross sells services. Assists Real Estate Lending personnel as necessary.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides members and Real Estate Lending personnel with quality mortgage loan processing according to the credit union's policies, practices and procedures. Keeps abreast of all Fannie Mae underwriting guidelines as required.
- Prepares loan underwriting package for submission to underwriter.
- Obtains all needed deposit, income & employment verifications for loan packages.
- Orders appraisals, if applicable, flood determinations, private mortgage insurance.
- Coordinates communications between member, realtor, attorney, seller and appraisal management firm.
- Requests payoffs and updated insurance declaration pages showing desired mortgagee clause.
- Complies with Credit Union Policies and Procedures, as well as regulatory compliance.
- Provides back up to other Real Estate Lending staff as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Real Estate Lending Operations Manager.
Education, Experience, & Certification:
Below are the minimum required skills and competencies:
- Minimum 2 years' experience processing conventional and government loans.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of real estate lending criteria, compliance, federal/state regulations.
- Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment typical to Mortgage Banking.
- Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
- Experience with Calyx Point, Meridian Link/Loans PQ or Encompass Software
