One of our clients, Monroe Arts Center (MAC), is seeking a dynamic leader to manage its regional performing and visual arts center while playing an instrumental part in making Monroe, Wisconsin a destination. The key responsibility is to lead the vision/strategy and develop funding for the arts center, art gallery, meeting rooms, classroom, gift shop, promenade, box office, and accessibility to the beautiful 19th century historic church converted into a 270-seat arts center. Larger acts can be booked in the 700-seat local Monroe High School PAC. Other critical responsibilities include managing staff and volunteers; fund and membership development and donor stewardship; forming and maintaining community partnerships with other arts organizations; strategic planning & continuous improvement; educational, business and community outreach; budget/financial management and revenue generation; facilities management; marketing and promotion; and working collaboratively while reporting to boards of directors for both MAC and MAC Foundation.
Ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and love of the arts; Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, nonprofit management, business admin and/or commensurate experience; strong management/leadership experience, ideally in arts or nonprofit organization; proven track record of successful fundraising and development efforts, excellent verbal and written communication skills including public speaking; prudent financial management skills; visionary, continuous improvement and strategic thinking skills; and passion for the arts and commitment to MAC’s mission.
