Mammography Technologist Requirements
- License/Certification -please do not apply if you do not have these!
- Currently California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in Mammo graphy and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Education:Successful completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Experience:Minimum one (2) year of experience as a radiologic technologist.
- Experience:Minimum 2 year experience as a mammo graphy technologist.
- Performs screening, diagnostic and interventional mammo graphy procedures.
- Operates mammo graphy equipment & Develops films and coordinates patient care with other patient services.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammo graphic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.
- Experience on GE 3D Pristina Mammo graphy Equipment preferable.
- Position patients, using immobilization when necessary. Calculate exposure factors.
- Perform the quality control functions related to mammo graphy including but not limited to initial set-up and certification of equipment, preventive maintenance and ensuring accuracy of digital images by testing and other QA measures as appropriate.
- Evaluate mammo graphy images for diagnostic quality obtaining additional images as needed.
- Explain procedures to patients.
- electronic charting and/or paperwork for transmission and interpretation.
- Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data.
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing all breast imaging procedures.
- Participate in team-based activities on a routine basis.
- Participate in a QI, QA, QC activities with documented outcomes.
- Monitor mammo graphy section procedures and supply charges to ensure completeness and accuracy.
